Call for Challenge Proposals

Overview & Purpose

Challenges should address a well-defined problem relevant to NCVPRIPG-2025, provide high-quality data for testing/training algorithms, and define a clear assessment procedure. Proposals are invited to organize challenge sessions addressing problems that will engage and excite the research community. Challenge session proposals should include:

  • An attractive challenge title
  • A brief introduction of the challenge (max 500 words)
  • The impact and significance of the challenge in the research and/or industrial community
  • Major rules for participation and criteria that will be used to evaluate the submitted entries
  • The team that will run the challenge (name, affiliation, email for each member, contact number)
  • Important dates (e.g., submission deadline, data release dates, winners will be announced at the NCVPRIPG-25)
  • Awards proposed, if any
  • Hands-on/live competition/Demo sessions are to be held during NCVPRIPG-25

  • SOME GUIDELINES & RULES:

  • Organizers cannot participate as competitors in the challenge they are organizing.
  • Organizers should provide a dataset to participating teams that should include a training set with ground truth and a testing set whose ground truth is hidden/ to be released later.
  • Challenge session organizers can organize the presentation of best-performing teams in a dedicated session at NCVPRIPG-25.
  • The session, typically of 3 hours duration, may include but not necessarily limited to the following:

  • the presentation of the challenge,
  • the presentation of awarda and the sponsors (if any),
  • an oral presentation of the model/approach by the best team(s)
  • a poster session,
  • keynote/invited talk

    The organizers are encouraged to use open-source data, and related license providing a sustained platform for benchmarking.

    All workshop accepted and presented papers will be published by Springer CCIS (Confirmation is awaited).

  • Challenges Proposal Submission Deadline: April 10, 2025
  • Notification of Selection: April 12, 2025
  • Web Posting of Challenges: April 15, 2025
  • Opening Date for Submission to Challenges: April 25, 2025
  • Closing Date for Submission to Challenges: June 5, 2025
  • Announcement of Challenge Winners:June 25, 2025
  • Registration Deadline for Challenge Attendees: July 1, 2025
